I’m not sure what’s great about YM9 yet but there’s definitely something wrong with it. With YM9, you can see who’s ‘invisible’ in your list. So if you want to hide your status from your friends or your boss, there’s no point doing it because they can see you’re online anyway. They might as well remove the ‘Invisible Status’ or Stealth Mode.

My sister and I did a little experiment.

a. She’s using YM 9 and I’m using YM 8.1
i. I tried Invisible mode and Stealth mode.

b. She’s using YM 9 and I upgraded mine to YM 9
i. I tried Invisible mode and Stealth mode.
My sister was able to see that my status was hidden in both cases.
