Amazon Web Services – S3

One of my clients asked me to research on Amazon S3 or Amazon Simple Storage Service. From the name itself, it’s a storage for your files, videos, music, etc. I just signed up for the service and since I’m not a really geeky web developer and I hate reading pages after pages of tutorials, it took me awhile to find something that will help me sign up and use this service. I actually searched Google for “Amazon S3 Tutorials for dummies.”

One of the most useful tutorial that got me started on S3 was from www.90kts.com I just downloaded JetS3t and from there, it took me less than a minute to set it up and create bucket because it uses a GUI.

I just used JetS3t to set up my bucket but I liked the firefox plugin S3 Fox Organizer when transferring files from my PC to the bucket. There’s also a great tutorial on this from Ask Mr Video. Watch the tutorial below:
